The 6 best done-for-you B2B prospect research services (2026)
The Scout team ·
A done-for-you prospect research service builds the list for you: it finds the companies that fit, the right people at them, and checks the contact data. Some send a spreadsheet, some add outreach, and one sends a reason to reach out with every lead.
We checked every vendor fact on this page against the vendor's own site on October 27, 2026. None of these services publishes a price on the pages we read, so the table says how each one charges instead. Scout is our product, and it is on the list.

1. Leadium: a research team for custom lists
Leadium pairs "experienced data researchers and QA teams" with each client, using "100+ data sources." It says it validates "each contact one by one," checks the data against do-not-call lists, and works in "weekly data delivery sprints," with the file sent in a Google Sheet for approval (Leadium, read October 27, 2026).
Pick it if list accuracy is your main problem and you want a team that will match unusual criteria.
2. Belkins: test leads before you commit
Belkins starts with a sample. Its page says a specialist "prepares 20 test leads that match your ICP for an initial review," and then the research team sends "50–100 test leads for verification" within two days. It also cleans and refreshes existing CRM data (Belkins, read October 27, 2026).
The test batch is the useful part: you see the quality before the contract grows.
3. CIENCE: research on its own or with SDRs
CIENCE offers "custom research by trained data experts" and "verified contacts and accounts, checked by humans." It also runs managed outbound SDR teams for "a fixed monthly fee," with commissions only on meetings that are held (CIENCE, read October 27, 2026).
Pick it if you want one vendor to research and run the outreach.
4. SalesHive: lists as part of a managed outbound program
SalesHive builds "verified prospect lists built around your best-fit accounts," but mostly as part of its outsourced SDR service, with US-based reps on email and calls. Pricing is "one flat monthly fee" for the team, a strategist, data and tools, with no setup fee or long-term contract (SalesHive, read October 27, 2026).
It is the wrong choice if you only want the list. It is a good one if you want someone else to run outbound end to end.
5. A freelance researcher: cheapest, and only as good as your brief
Hiring a researcher on a freelance marketplace gets you exactly what you write down, at an hourly or per-lead rate. That works when your criteria are simple and you can check the output. It gets hard when the reason to contact a company depends on reading its news or job posts, because that judgment is what you are paying for and it varies from person to person.
6. Scout: a lead with the reason attached
Scout researches your ICP for fresh public buying signals, such as a hiring push, an expansion or a funding round, and sends you reviewed leads: the company, the signal, the link to the source, a verified contact and a first line that uses the signal. You send the emails from your own tools.
Scout is the wrong pick if you need a large list fast, data for an ABM ad audience, or someone to run the outreach. The services above do those better. Scout fits when you send fewer, better-timed emails and want to check why each lead is on the list.
How do you choose a prospect research service?
Decide first whether you are buying a list or buying outreach. Leadium and Belkins sell the list, CIENCE and SalesHive sell the outbound program, and the price follows from that.
Then ask every vendor the same question: what does a lead look like, and how do I check it? A good answer is a sample on your own ICP, like Belkins' test batch. Do not judge on volume. In our RevOps hiring study, 79.2% of companies hiring three or more account executives had no RevOps role posted, which means the best-timed accounts are often not the ones a filter-built list would put first (Scout, October 25, 2026).
Where Scout fits
Scout is the research layer for teams that want each lead to come with a reason they can verify. If that is the gap in your outbound, get five free leads on your own ICP and compare them with whatever sample the services above send you.
